How can we help?
Short answers about searching, listings, accounts and alerts. Anything else: write to us.
Searching
How a query becomes results, filters, typos and sorting.
- How search worksType the way you would say it. Everylot picks the year, make, model, price cap, mileage cap and zip out of the sentence and runs one query across every dealer lot in the index.
- Filters, distance and sortingThe filter panel does the same job as the sentence, with menus. Distance needs a zip; sort defaults to nearest when you give one and newest when you do not.
Listings and prices
Where listings come from, how fresh they are, what the badges mean.
- What is in the index, and what is notEverylot indexes used and certified pre-owned vehicles from dealer websites that allow crawling. Marketplaces and private-party sites are not indexed; every results page links to them instead.
- How fresh the listings areEvery dealer page is re-read about once a day. A listing that disappears from the dealer is retired within three days. The New badge marks the first 48 hours in the index.
- What "Good price" and "Price drop" meanGood price means at least 8% under the index average for the same year, make and model, with at least four comparable listings. Price drop means we saw a higher price on this exact listing before.
- A listing is wrong, sold, or looks offTell us through the support form with the listing link. We re-read the dealer page or retire the listing, usually the same day.
- Buying a car you found on EverylotEverylot is a search engine, not a seller. Every listing links to the dealer's own page; the sale, the price and the paperwork are between you and the dealer.
Accounts, saved cars and alerts
Saving cars, saved searches, email digests, deleting your account.
- Saving carsTap the heart on any listing. Without an account the list lives in your browser; with an account it follows you across devices and feeds price-drop alerts.
- Saved searches and email alertsSave any results page and get one email a day (or a week) with the new listings that match, plus price drops on your saved cars. One email, not one per car.
- Creating and signing in to an accountAccounts are free and exist for saved cars, saved searches and alerts. Sign in with an email code or a Google account; no password is required.
- Deleting your accountOpen the account page, choose Manage profile, then Delete account. Saved cars, saved searches and preferences are removed at once; the newsletter subscription is cancelled too.
For dealers
Getting listed, fixing a listing, or leaving the index.
- Dealers: getting your inventory listedListing is free. If your site publishes schema.org vehicle data on its inventory pages, has a sitemap, and does not block our crawler, we can index it. Send us the domain.
- Dealers: removing your site or a listingTwo lines in robots.txt stop the crawler and retire your listings within 72 hours. Or email us from your dealership domain and we remove the site the same day.
Privacy and data
What we store, what we do not, and the JSON API.
- Privacy and cookies, in plain languageNo ad tracking, no sale of data, no cookies unless you sign in (and then only the ones that keep you signed in). Analytics are aggregate daily counts with no visitor identifiers.
- The newsletterOccasional notes on new dealer coverage, features and useful market numbers. Double opt-in, one-click unsubscribe, never more than a few times a month.
- The JSON APIGET /api/search returns the same results as the site as JSON. Free for light use; identify your client and keep it under a request a second.
