Filters, distance and sorting

The filter panel does the same job as the sentence, with menus. Distance needs a zip; sort defaults to nearest when you give one and newest when you do not.

Everything the sentence can express, the panel can too. On a laptop it sits to the left of the results; on a phone the Filters button opens it full screen and the button at the bottom shows how many results you will get before you close it. Changes apply as you make them, no reload.

Distance

Enter a five-digit zip and pick a radius (25 to 500 miles, or anywhere). Distances are straight-line from the center of your zip to the dealer's address as published on the listing. We use public Census zip centroids, so a zip we do not know shows a note and results come from everywhere.

Sorting

With a zip, results sort nearest first. Without one, newest first: the most recently indexed listings lead. You can switch to price (either direction), mileage, or model year from the Sort menu. Sorting never hides listings; it only reorders them.

Applied filters

Each active filter shows as a chip above the results. Click the x on a chip to drop just that filter, or Clear all to start over. The URL updates as you go, so a results page can be bookmarked, shared, or saved as a search.

Keyboard

Press / or Cmd K (Ctrl K on Windows) from anywhere to jump to the search box. Arrow keys move through suggestions; Enter runs the search; Escape closes the menu.
